I’ve joined the company as North America Energy Editor. I have been covering energy-related topics for more than two decades, with an emphasis on oil and natural gas in the last 10 years. I was one of the first journalists to cover what has become one of the biggest energy stories in the last 30 years: the Marcellus Shale play in the U.S.’s Appalachian Basin. During my career, I also have covered the coal, nuclear and renewable energy industries for business publications, weekly business and daily newspapers, and Internet-only publications. I’m based in the center of the Marcellus Shale play: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I joined Kallanish as South America and Europe Energy Journalist, based in Manchester, UK. Prior to reporting on the oil & gas industry, I covered the steel and raw materials markets in Latin America for Steel Business Briefing in Brazil – with most of my commodities’ reporting experience focused on the Brazilian iron ore sector. I graduated in Journalism and have a British Master’s degree in International Business Management and Marketing. I’m a new mum whose work career also includes having worked as a press officer, public relations and marketing & business development manager. I speak Portuguese, English and Spanish.
I’m from Pittsburgh, PA – the birthplace of the US steel industry – and I got my start in the industry in 2009 with the original SBB. Prior to that, I covered police and military affairs in Beaufort, SC, and spot news for the Valley News Dispatch in Tarentum, PA. As part of the North American Kallanish team, I cover flats, tubular products and specialty steel products. My wife and I are in the process of clearing a 13-acre parcel on the outskirts of the city for horse pasture and a pumpkin patch. When I’m not cutting brush or tinkering with our tractors, I enjoy fishing, writing speculative fiction and exploring our local trails.
I cover the Turkish market at Kallanish. I have seven years experience writing news and overviews on financial, business, economic issues from different geographies. Prior to joining the Kallanish team in April 2015, I monitored the developments in the Turkish economy and the renewable energy industry in EMEA for an emerging markets-focused business news and market intelligence provider.
My educational background includes degrees in International Economics, Slavic Philology, and Applied Linguistics.

After graduating from the University of Surrey with a 2:1 in English Literature with Creative Writing, I worked in a variety of roles: from retail, to teaching, to research. Now I’m looking to help drive forward the company growth at Kallanish as a member of the sales team. Though I may not have the most logical background to work in steel, I’m eager to learn and flourish in this industry. My hobbies include hosting quizzes and bouldering, however I love nothing more than writing short stories in my spare time.
As a Berlin-based Sales Manager I’m the first point of contact for our readers and workshop attendees from Austria, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Also I’m responsible for the requirements for most of the blue-chip company accounts. Before I came back from maternity leave I spent 2 years within the B2B-conference industry for Automotive, Aircraft and Finance. Previously, from 2008 – 2011 I was part of the true team of Steel Business Briefing, London. I speak German, Spanish and English.
I joined Kallanish in the beginning of 2016 and I am looking after the Middle East and Eastern European markets. Also in 2016 I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Economics at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria. My goal is to grow professionally side by side with the company and provide the best service I am capable of. I read a lot of business books, I am always open to new, better ways to do things and I am looking forward to establishing win-win relationships with the customers in my territory.
I studied Business at Deusto University in Spain, doing an internship at UCLAN University in Preston (UK). After that I worked for British Airways in the sales department, and then joined Steel Business Briefing in 2006. I worked in the sales department and was promoted several times until 2011, when I decided to move back to Spain and continue my History of Art studies doing a Masters and PhD which is due to be read soon. Now I have joined Kallanish Commodities and handle several countries in Europe and Latin America.
I joined Kallanish Commodities in Sept 2014 and am based in Singapore as a sales manager. Prior to that, I was working with Platts (3 years) and SBB (7.5 years), as sales manager too. Before joining the steel industry, I was in the financial industry. During my spare time, I swim, read or try to cook.
Management, Marketing, and Administration Team Members

Currently in a business school in the South of France, I am doing an internship in the Kallanish headquarters in London. I work mainly with Caroline, as a marketing assistant. I optimize the marketing operations of the website and update social networks. This is my first experience in the oil & gas and steel sectors, so I am really happy to learn and improve my knowledge with the Kallanish team.
I have 15 years experience in commodities and emerging markets. I spent 2 years in Platts as commercial director of metals integrating and restructuring the newly acquired SBB company. At SBB I spent 8 years as commercial director in metals; starting from scratch I built a global team of 30 sales in 7 offices that doubled revenue every 2 years. Prior to that I spent 5 years in product management of emerging market information services.
I’m a passionate marketing professional with 10 years experience working across B2B and B2C sectors. I worked for 7 years at SBB Group, and spent the last 2 years as the global head of marketing. Then, I joined the Reed Exhibitions team and headed up the marketing for the Upstream Oil and Gas portfolio exhibitions and conferences.
I am an international leader with 25 years’ experience in general management, strategic alliances and finance gained in a multi-cultural environment. Most recently I was General Manager of SBB Asia responsible for delivery of company strategy across Asia with a team of 60 staff in 5 countries. Previously I was a Commercial Director and a Strategic Alliances professional for blue chip companies in the payments industry. I speak fluent French and conversational Mandarin.
