Mexico’s National Center for Natural Gas Control (CENAGAS) has conducted the first open season for capacity on the country’s natural gas pipeline grid, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported.
A unit of midstreamer Plains All American Pipeline received sufficient shipper commitments to add 120,000 barrels per day (BPD) of capacity from the Delaware Basin in West Texas, to Cushing, Okla.
Repairs to the Longhorn Pipeline system in Texas, which spilled 1,200 barrels of oil last week, have been completed and the line is back in service, operator Magellan Midstream Partners said Monday.
China’s National Development & Reform Commission and National Energy Administration launched together last week a medium-long term national gas & oil pipeline network development plan, as reported in sister publication KallanishSteel.
By the end of 2020 the government aims to boost pipeline length by almost 50% based on 2015 levels, and to more than double the network by 2025. Kallanish estimates the implied steel demand could reach around 19 million tonnes over 2016-2020.
