Ohio approves 2nd gas-fired power plant near Toledo

An Ohio state agency has approved another natural gas-fired power plant outside of Toledo, Kallanish Energy reports. Last Thursday, the Ohio Power Siting Board approved the construction of a 955-megawatt gas-fired power plant in Oregon in Lucas County.


Petitioners place 305,591 signatures on Ohio ballot initiatives

Organizers are hoping to collect more than 305,591 signatures in Ohio to put two constitutional amendments on the statewide November 2018 ballot.  Both efforts would give Ohioans more power to pass and enforce local laws that might conflict with state laws including shale drilling and pipelines, Kallanish Energy reports.


Ohio EPA asks Rover Pipeline to halt HDD drilling

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has asked Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners to halt horizontal drilling under streams and highways for its $4.2 billion Rover natural gas pipeline, Kallanish Energy reports.
