Wind developer Vestas has secured its fourth intertidal project contract in Vietnam with a 29-megawatt order, Kallanish Energy reports.

The Ben Tre VI-3 wind project will be located in the Ba Tri District of Ben Tre province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam.

The contract calls for seven wind turbines in shallow waters close to shore to optimize energy production and to take advantage of the favorable winds in the Mekong Delta region, the Danish company said in statement.

The company has contracted with Sigma Engineering Joint Stock Co., the EPC contractor for the project.

The order includes a 20-year service agreement, the longest service contract of its kind in Vietnam.

Turbine delivery is scheduled in the first quarter of 2021 with installation to begin in second quarter 2021.

A second phase of the Vietnam wind farm project is planned.
