PRIVACY
KALLANISH PRIVACY NOTICE
This Notice explains how Kallanish deals with personal data in the course of its business activities, including the services and information that Kallanish provides to its own customers and to others whether paid for or not, by whatever means, and including marketing related activities as well as the provision of services and information.
‘Personal data’ means identifiable information about private individuals, including names of individuals and such things as their private contact, account or payment details, etc. It does not include commercial information, information about businesses or information that does not identify private individuals, including where personal data has been anonymised so that the private individuals to which it relates can no longer be identified.
Updating: Kallanish practice with respect to personal data and the Kallanish Privacy Notice may be updated from time to time.
‘Kallanish’: This Notice relates to the activities of ‘Kallanish’, that is Kallanish Limited, its wholly owned subsidiaries and any other associated company or organisation to the extent that it engages in the business of Kallanish and for which Kallanish Limited acts as Data Controller.
Processing Personal Data
In the course of Kallanish business activities personal data is inevitably collected and is used to target and deliver information and services. The information and services that Kallanish provide are business related. The personal data collected, processed and used in the course of providing and promoting such information and services, or information and services of business partners of Kallanish, is personal data in which there is a legitimate interest in order to effectively conduct those business activities. The normal course of that business does not involve processing any personal data such that might be expected to impinge upon any fundamental rights or freedoms of any individual to whom that personal data relates. If it is necessary to collect, process or use any such personal data, then explicit consent will be sought.
If Kallanish receives notice that it has any personal data the processing of which might impinge upon any fundamental rights or freedoms of any individual to whom that personal data relates, then Kallanish will investigate and take appropriate action that may include the deletion, anonymisation, pseudonymisation or other steps to protect against this and/or seek explicit consent with respect to the retention, processing and use of all or part of such personal data.
Uses of Personal Data
The uses of personal data in providing and promoting information and services include: monitoring the use of services accessed by electronic means to identify subscribers and authorised individual users, providing and promoting information and services, identifying and supplying information and services of particular interest, responding to particular needs and requests, communicating with you, dealing with payments, preferences, feedback and security and other activities directly related to the efficient and effective targeting and delivery of information and services.
Websites, Applications and other means of Internet Communication
When Kallanish Websites, Applications and other means of Internet Communication are used, information is collected about the means of access including the internet protocol (‘IP’) address used, type of operating system, browser software and geographical location. Cookies are used to enhance the online experience. They are not used to collect personally identifiable information or run programs. You may choose to adjust the settings on the software you use to access sites to accept or decline cookies or particular categories of cookie, however declining cookies may limit your access to certain site functions.
Kallanish sites contain links to third party sites that are not controlled by Kallanish and for which Kallanish has no responsibility.
Security
Kallanish has in place measures to protect the security of personal data including firewalls and other security and monitoring software and devices.
Further information about personal data
Personal information is stored for as long as it is considered useful in connection with the Kallanish business activities to which it relates. Kallanish Limited may be contacted to request access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or rectification of processing with respect to the individual to whom the personal data relates. Kallanish should be contacted if there is any objection to the processing of personal data or if there is any reason to believe that personal data has been compromised. Kallanish takes the protection and use of personal data seriously and welcomes enquiries and concerns. Where an issue is not dealt with satisfactorily, the relevant supervisory authority for making a complaint is the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
