The announcement came last week in a new susrtainability report from National Australia Bank. “As an outcome of the oil and gas sector review, we will not finance oil/tar sands extraction projects and oil and gas projects within or impacting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge area and any similar Antarctic refuge,” the bank said

It joins other banks including Barclays, HSBC, BNO Paribas, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Societe Generale which have made similar announcements.
